Book Releases: 2020 Sapphic Releases (January to June)

Not to be bringing any sort of bitterness to this blog or anything, but there’s only so many times you can see “there’s no (good) f/f” as a tweet before you snap. So in the interests ofΒ not snapping, I compiled a list of all the sapphic releases I know about this year.

And I know aΒ lot.

So this list is actually going to be split into two. The first, this post, is going to take us from January to June. The second will come in a few months time and focus on July to December. Actually, the post is based on a thread I did on twitter, so if you’re impatient, go check that out (though dates aren’t always correct, and it’s not the most up to date).

So do you want to read f/f books but you don’t want to look for them?

Well it’s your lucky day. I did the looking for you!

P.S. dates are correct to the best of my knowledge, but if I have missed a postponement somewhere, please let me know.

11 Replies to “Book Releases: 2020 Sapphic Releases (January to June)”

  1. OMG thanks so much for this! I’m sure it’ll come pretty handy during quarantine xD
(I used to consider myself a massive aficionado when it comes to this stuff, but after reading this post…uhh guess not:/)

A suggestion, though: could you maybe make these posts genre-wise? I’d devour a sapphic contemporary at any ungodly hour of the day, but sci-fi (or, at the moment, even fantasy) isn’t really my thing. So that’ll def come in handy while looking for recs (you’ve somehow made it to the opposite end of the spectrum, speaking of “snapping at the general grumbling at the supposed lack of sapphic content” – this list is actually pretty overwhelming and it’d be great to have some sort of filter other than the cover)

Also, as a side-note: this blog is officially what keeps me going through bad days, especially when I need something adequately gay and just perfect for my mood and Goodreads is generally being very unhelpful (as per usual). Thanks again. I just…could you maybe make lists for queer, particularly sapphic, TV as well? I’ve been killing myself looking for recs beyond glee and HTGAWM – nothing else’s really clicked (I’ve heard the L-word is bi-phobic and very explicit with stuff, most other shows have nudity and crap (stuff like Sense8 and OITNB), and I’m…considering some others but the premise hasn’t particularly interested me)…and it feels fucking impossible at the moment. It doesn’t have to be often, I’d just appreciate it a lot. My TBR’s really overwhelming at the moment, but I have practically NOTHING to watch (and yes, lesbian/queer girl characters are a pre-requisit). Please do consider it!

    Love you guys,
    Berry
